Due to the recent IPv4 Depletion at IANA and following soon is ARIN, RIPE, JPNIC, and the other Regional providers, IPv4 space has reach it's limits.

Softlayer, our primary upstream provider, has started to ration and limit IP address allocations. This is a move that is necessary, although frustrating as it limits our ability to receive IP addresses when necessary.

What we're asking is that all clients that have unused IP addresses for any reason, please contact us and let us know. Also, if you are open to the suggestion of re-IP addressing your server(s), please let us know. We intend to convert as many of our IP ranges to Softlayer Portable IP ranges as possible to allow IP addresses to be shifted freely from server to server. This would require us to order fewer IP addresses and be more efficient with our IP address allocations.

For the time being, we will need to halt the ordering of new IP addresses as most servers simply do not have any free IP addresses and Softlayer is rationing IP address allocaitons. If you require an IP address, please email our sales department with your justification statement (including valid domain names for SSL certificates to be installed on) and we'll do our best to allocate IP address space.

All clients can receive as many IPv6 addresses as they please. We'll be moving all OpenVZ servers from Venet devices to Veth devices over the next week to boost reliability of IPv6 on our OpenVZ platform. IPv6 functions flawlessly on our Xen platform.

Again, we do ask that any clients willing to give up unused IP addresses or change IP addresses to open up availability for other clients please contact us. This will help everyone as a whole.
